This project is still under construction. Based on a sketch done in 1959, that never got built. A small series of DB4 Aston Martin GT Coupes were built, but never a Barchetta version. So we partnered with the original design cheif of Zagato (Ercole Spada), who drew this car long ago, to realize it now! Certainly inspired by the original coupe, but it's own unique creation for sure. Hand built in collaberation with Ercole & Paolo Spada at Spada Concept in Italy. All CAD designed, brand new from the ground up. Modern Aston Martin V12, six speed manual transmission. Removable hard top, hand stitched glove leather interior. Concours quality hiding modern chassis engineering. Built to be driven. History remixed. More soon... This is the sort of car that people will think they have seen before, then hesitate and get stuck staring at it.
The timeless form of the coupe lent itself well to be considered as a roadster. Plus, that gave us the opportunity to integrate the famous Zagato "double bubble" language.
With the interior, we left it very classic, although all gauges will appear stock but function more precisely, with modern internals. Note how the double bubble shape extends up the rear to the seat backs.
Here we are laser scanning our favorite car, the Lemans Coupe. The owner was kind enough to let us send a crew of technicians to Switzerland to scan this rare and valuable car for valuable reference data.
We were fortunate to make friends with the Borrani family in Italy. They were kind enough to make our wheels for us based on the original design files, yet scaled for our modern brake system. They even pulled out the tools they used in the 1960's for us!
This is the result of a laser scan we did after the body was smooth and completed. This effort will make it more streamlined when we build more of these.

A few more vintage reference photos we collected when we started our research and design phase. Each car was different when new, so we had the oportunity to pick and choose our favorite elements of each.
