This epic 1965 Toyota Land Cruiser is historically significant. Built in 2002, right at the end of the FJ Cruiser pre-production prototype projects built by TLC for Toyota Corp, this is the only FJ43 we built for the public. Using a brand-new Toyota Bandeirante steel body (with NOS 1980 FJ40 bib)) upon a stretched and powder coated FJ40 chassis, this unique TLC represents a special time for Toyota, TLC and ICON. This build went on to inspire the birth of the ICON brand.
Mechanical features include 8/80 and newer FJ40 axles, Old Man Emu suspension, P/S, A/C, GM RamJet crate 5.7 fuel injected 350HP/400TRQ V8, Toyota H55f five speed manual transmission with 19 spline two-speed part-time transfer case.
Paint is an Audi TT color, and the interior is trimmed in special carbon fiber laminated leather, with top quality marine carpets and removable mats. Stock NOS Bandeirante door panels, dash pad and headliner. Bucket seats with adjustable arm rests in front, three passenger tuck-and-tumble rear bench. Sony (outdated…) CD audio system sits within a Tuffy steel center console. 3M film tinted windows. Extensive use of Dynamat sound deadening products. The hard top and doors are removable.
This vehicle is impossible to duplicate today and offers a unique opportunity as a great daily driver collectible. Make sure to watch the video for more details!
