First, we discuss your concept and advise you as we refine the plan together.
What speaks to you?
Shall it be gasoline powered, or maybe diesel, perhaps electric? What moves you?
Next, we do an exhaustive design study, and a series of renderings.
Once we agree on the rendered designs, we write a more detailed outline of the project. Once we all agree on the general plan and targets, next step is design and engineering.
Then we develop a full CAD model of the fully realized body, chassis, power train etcetera.
Next we move on to the smaler details, and engineering related to integration of modern functions such as audio, power windows, navigation and other corruptions of the modern age.
By this time, we start discussing and sharing samples of materials, paint and powder coat finishes and the like. During this phase we are ordering, crafting and collecting all of the known components needed for the build, big and small.
By focusing on these elements more intensely in the first phases of the project, by the time we set our team loose on the car, we have a clear vision and plan established, allowing for the most effective labor process, and greatest continuity of design elements.
Once the project is completed, we personally test drive the car 2000-3000 miles in a variety of environments before we sign off and are ready to deliver your vehicle to you.
In the final step of the process, you hopefully enjoy your ICON Concept Car for decades, until it becomes a heirloom, cherished forever.
In general, these scratch build Concepts would be titled by the end user, following Specialty Construction Vehicle titling processes. They vary State by State, but SEMA has organized and streamlined the process, and we are well equipped to advise you on the fairly simple process.
